*disappointed* I received the canceled email but still those that were duped can take ACTION! File a complaint with customer service and report them to the BBB-better business bureau. I gave customer service until the 10th to respond to my email and if they don't BBB is where it's at. We'll see how this fairs out. Get the free consumer action handbook from the FCIC or check them out online: Consumer Handbook View or order the Handbook online

Thanks Eve! I was pretty disappointed after the cancellations. I knew that it might be too good to be true, but still, it got my hopes REALLY high up. After falling smack down on my face, I feel that I should have received a better response than a three sentence 'apology'. If they did this on purpose to get people to visit their site, I am severely disappointed. I have wanted an HDTV SO BAD for the longest time and this was my one chance I thought. Oh well, it was worth a try.

Grocery stores/Target/Kmart/etc have to do this type of thing all the time because of a misprint in a sales ad. Basically mistakes happen... Its wonderful when the seller lives up to it but get real, an error of this magnitude? Were talking about $600 off. This best sums up the whole thing "Oh well, it was worth a try.". You just never know! Personally I think they could have randomly selected one customer to buy it at that price would have been a nice way to deal with the mistake but oh well.

Yea I agree. It wouldn't hurt them to have a random drawing for a couple. It might even bring customers in because of the way they could handle it.

So maybe I'm not the first one to think of it - but this seems to be a great new advertising model. Price a hot product at an unbelievable discount, wait for the community deal sites (like DealsPlus) to pick up the "story", and then sit back as thousands of people flock to your site - all without spending $0.01 on advertising. Ok, so you piss a few people off because the "too good to be true" price really was just that...but I'm sure it's not enough to scare everyone away from doing business from them in the future.

i think not honoring a posted price (even if it is too good to be true) makes people nervous about what their customer service is like...I found it interesting that if you look in their customer care...legal information, they say 'all prices are subject to final approval at the time of order fulfillment' so maybe this is common practice for them...so I'm pretty turned off them since they can change anything anytime... (although I will admit I would have never heard of them if this did not happen)

I ordered 2 this morning around 7:15, and when I called the rep was very un-responsive, just saying 'I have no information at this time' Deep down I think I know these will all get canceled, but here is hoping they honor the price on their site =)

I just went to check this out. I added one to cart and price came up $938.51 + free shipping. They seem to have caught their mistake. I hope they honor the price for the people who got in on it.

These viewsonic TV's are crap with only HDMI inputs and PC inputs. You could use this for a GIGANTIC monitor though.

I could be slightly biased, having a bad experience with these LCD's before though. The customer service at viewsonic is horrible if you ever need something repaired, and it is under warranty.

Also, CNET seems to give costcentral.com a reliable review... So if they did mess up, at least they shouldn't scam.

Yes absolutely not. They're not gonna charge you and ship nothing. They'll most likely refund any charges they make and send you an apologetic e-mail or something. There is a chance that they'll honor it :)

It's most likely a price mistake. Don't be shocked if orders get canceled. Good luck all who try for it.

Apparently, people already ordered and have theirs packaged and ready for shipments. I'd suggest those who want it buy it ASAP because this thing is going to get sold out quickly.

There are some people buying 6 or more at a time Eve, xichigox bought one too, hopefully they won't cancel their shipments (worst case scenario). But if that happens, I'm sure if you complain enough, you can probably get a discount or something.

Deals that seem too good to be true often are...plus this site has said they have 345 in stock all night, and the slickdeals post on this, for example, has roughly 18,000 views. Add that to every single other deals site on the web, and that's gotta correspond to WAY more than 345 purchases. Also, this seller doesn't seem particularly reliable. This price is probably about half what it should be, so I'm worried for you too. But still good luck. Sorry to be such a downer, but I've had so many great deals canceled on me from more reliable sites than this one. It's always sad :.

*sigh* Does that happen a lot? I mean do companies actually send customer's a notice saying their orders are canceled due to incompetence and inefficiency? That is so wrong! What a tease! Oh well still nice to even *think* about...I mean I don't need it I WANT it.

Yeah, it happens a fair amount actually. Sometimes companies honor their mistakes, but usually they don't. Check out this deal from a month ago, and this company is like an Asian version of Amazon, very reputable- http://www.dealsplus.com/Wii-Play-US-Version_20774

Isn't that like false advertisment and isn't there a law that protects the buyer..I mean that is the fault of the merchant. They should stick by their mistakes because that would make them a better company. It should be a win win situation. Even if costcentral.com had a price mistake they only have a limited number of TVs to recover from. Either way this is a company I will buzz about-good and bad.
