No, I meant that the normal $50 offer for the credit card is still available. Those applying for the card should obviously use that offer versus the $30 offer you posted.

Nice offer. Should we sign up just for the offer and then pay of balance and not think about it again?

I always get nervous about that.

Cool, I think I'd feel pretty secure about an amazon credit card. Gotta get that steady income first though ;)

I signed up for an Amazon card with the $30 promo, but just because I wanted 3% cashback on Amazon purchase. Remember a lot of cards offer $100-$400 cashback after spending $500, so $30 isn't a huge incentive.

Get this offer, and immediately pay the card and never use it. Is it good idea? Like free $30? And later cancel the card. Is it good to do this?

I have heard of people "churning" credit card offers. You can make a lot of money doing that if you have great credit but be aware that even closed accounts stay on your credit report for 10 years, although people who do this say it doesn't affect their credit much.

I think at this rate, for me- that doesn't matter.

sfreestuff Dec 03, 2012
If you can manage to control yourself, use this card as your primary, buy everything on credit, and pay it off every month. Amazon pays points each month and I'm always getting free stuff with my points on Amazon. If you buy a lot on Amazon, get Amazon Prime (student rate if you have a .edu email), and get free 2-day shipping, streaming movies, etc. Sometimes if I don't need 2-day shipping, I can select regular ground shipping and they give me a $1 mp3 credit.

I read all the fine print theirs no annual fees and I'm not worried about interest since I'm paying off the bills immediately with my debit...so far so good
