I agree with some of the reviewers that $100 for a cooking pot is a lil....
but i've bought the $25 ones, the $50 ones, but they all broke in two years. i ended up buying my first Le Creuset. the stub came off one day, I called the customer service and they ship a new stub to me for free.

I only buy one every few years. Pick your pieces carefully do that you will use it a lot. Ovals are good for roasting and casseroles. The round ones are good for roasting, casseroles, soups and stews.

They do last a lifetime. If your house burns down (knock on wood), it will be the last thing standing...

I could never cook in something that expensive! This looks like a good deal but I wonder how many people really buy a pot that expensive!

Le Creuset is made in France, and you may find cheaper cast iron pots and pans, but you would be hard pressed to find a better quility pot or pan. I have had some of mine for over 15 years and they still wash up as good as the new one. Plus do they come with a Lifetime gaurteen?

You can find cheaper items made from cast iron at chinese stores. I bet this one was made in china too

Yeah, like I-beams.

You're ignorant. READ THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Made in France

On top of that, all Le Creuset cast iron cookware is still manufactured in the company's foundry in Fresnoy-le-Grand, where artisans employ a 12 step finishing process implemented by 15 different pairs of hands to ensure that there are no flaws or imperfections in the final product.

I agree with @scatman, Le Creuset really makes quality cast iron that you seriously cannot get anywhere else. I think the OP's comment was unnecessary.
