This is a decent price for any knife and I know Gerber make quality stuff. Plus Bear Grylls says it's good so it has to be. ;)

Its a decent knife, I have it in my pocket right now because my wife used it and couldnt figure out how to close it lol. Its a liner lock so she had no clue. The speedsafe assisted open is quick and you can use the thumb stuf with a quick little flip or it has the speed safe trigger on the back of the knife which you can see here on the bottom left. All you need is a flick on that and shes open. http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x348/1darkimpaler/kershawbrawlera.jpg

Like I was saying. Check Walmart, they have this in a set with a tactical pen and LED flashlight for $20. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a277/zg8/DE1841B9-D2C1-4618-BC85-249FC9AEAC5E-748-000000237F0E51E3.jpg

Theres alot of good brands of knives. Gerber is one but not their cheaper budget knives like this. Kershaw, SOG, Cold Steel, Spyderco, Camillus, to name a few. A knife I would compare to this but with a more tactical tanto style blade is the Kershaw Brawler, Walmart has had it in a kit with a flashlight and tactical pen for $20. It has Kershaw Speedsafe assisted open that flicks these knives open in a split second. Nice and sturdy with a liner lock. I just bought one for myself http://www.amazon.com/Kershaw-1990X-Brawler-Speedsafe-Knife/dp/B005UE6GRC

i've heard of the first two brands, i'm going to try to stick with those few brands and narrow my search but from what i see so far the one you linked me was a really great price compared to anywhere else.

Nice Price but its a terrible knife. I collect knives, have 6 Gerbers in my collection and returned all but 1 at some point in time for broken tips. I own the larger version of this model, broke it in less than 2 weeks. Its a chisel blade as well which is utter garbage in the field.
