This is good price, generally they costs about 700+ bucks

That is still a lot of money to pay upfront though I know it represents a savings on the phone and on the plan since you can go with a good plan like streettalk. It would be hard for me to come up with that much at once (I don't have or use credit cards).

Most carriers offer this on a non-contract basis for 649 every day. I'm sorry, but how did this make front page with a 4% discount?

even on non-contract basis, wouldn't it still be locked to that carrier? This is a good deal because you're paying $25 less and no tax (except for CA) .. That's about $75 in savings for most. And the phone is factory unlocked.

I don't know. I assume that if you buy it outright that you wouldn't be locked into a carrier. My main point is that even if you get it tax free and get $75 off, this isn't really front page worthy at a (max) 12% discount. And it was picked by the DP staff themselves as a deal, but have slapped some on the wrist for plussing deals that they didn't feel were plus worthy? Too much speculation of favoritism towards certain posters seems very much warranted at times....this being one of them.
