A friend just bought a Sceptre due to her budget and has been surprised by the picture, sound and overall value this offers, I would recommend if on a budget or not.

My sister and brother-in-law just bought a Sceptre 40" tv and they love it. It was under $300 too which is an insane deal for a 40" tv.

$488 here too. Hope Walmart's not pulling another fast one, like they did with the $200 big tv before.

I have seen 40 inch Spectre @ my friends place. It looked bright. Better than my Coby brand.

not many opinions on this TV. I wonder if someone has this brand.

I haven't seen this exact model, but I've seen a few of the newer sceptres and the picture is decent; not spectacular on color/black levels but nice and crisp at least, just gonna lack some of the options of the nicer brands. You always take a risk with cheaper electronics failing, but then again you take a risk with any TV failing, even major manufacturers are a pain through warranty (and warranties are limited/don't last long). If you didn't snage some black-friday deals, and don't want to pay a little more for a name brand this isn't bad.
