Q: Updating previously posted deals.

Question:  Is there a MM benefit to updating previously posted deals?  If, say someone were to post a deal from buy.com 5 months ago and buy runs the same sale again and you update someone else's deal...do you get any MM points? A followup question. If there is a MM benefit to it and the original poster comes along behind you and re-renews the deal after you have updated it...is that kosher?

Hi nthsll!

If the price you update is LOWER then yes you do get credit for updating the post. To answer your 2nd question, us moderators approve the update so just because your image is on the deal doesn't necessarily mean you get the credit for updating the deal.

So if I update a post and it is lower than the original, but my pic (or lack thereof in my case :-)) is NOT on the deal, I should still getting credit for it?

The confusion is this. I updated one this morning, but the original poster's pic is represented by both pics on the deal....but the time on my comment was an hour before his/her activity as represented by the time stamp on the picture.

Make sense?

did you update the deal or post a comment stating that the price was lowered? updating a deal will get you half the MM money but simply posting a comment will get you nothing.

Actually both. I tried to post it and was given the "Duplicate" warning but the posting was several months old and a new price was offered. So I edited the post and posted that there was a new price.

Maybe I failed to click "save changes". I thought I updated it correctly, but I've made a mistake or 2 in my life.

Who knows.
