I am looking to buy a mountain bike, either online or in a store, for under $100, but have not been able to find anything worthwhile.

Walmart and Amazon are great... Costco also has some great mountain bikes (I've got 2 myself, one of which are from costco, and the costco one is GREAT quality)

Usually Wal-Mart has cheap mountain bikes. I bought mine for $80 from Wal-Mart. My friend just bought two mountain bikes a few days ago, one cost $70 and the other $50

I bought a bike from walmart, it's a good value, but the way they assemble them is sketchy at best, make sure you check all the parts and stuff for wobbles and wierd noises.
