Watch out, it's expired, even though Amazon still show the $50 off coupon. I got my order in the very last second. Thanks for the deal, this is probably the lowest price this card will ever get within a year or two. Creative platinum cards' price rarely change. ...yeah, how is this NOT on the front page!

It looks like there's a new rebate there that lists purchasing date from December 19th to December 25th. http://g-ec2.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/00/00/00/48/92/05/48920521._V49581884_.pdf

Does sound card really matter, isnt the speakers and subwoofer more important?

A few notes: if you have garbage speakers, then the sound card won't make much of a difference. But if you're using earbuds or a nice set of speakers, then you'll hear a HUGE difference. Also, a better sound card like this will output more channels, and take more inputs. I recently got a sweet set of earbuds (75 bucks) and when I plugged them into my onboard audio, I was gonna throw up. There was an insane amount of static which I had never picked up from my crappy speakers. And what's more, whenever my CPU had some load on it, the static increased. So I bought a $25 soundcard from NewEgg, and I'm pretty happy with it. Yes, there still is static, but nothing compared to the onboard. And my CPU usage is down. A card like this will surely remove all noise...but make sure you're not just hooking it up to some piece of crap speaker system. And, btw, if this comment doesn't deserve a plus, what does?
