Dropbox - Extra 4.5 GB of Online Storage Free

Install the beta version of the dropbox software on your PC or Laptop and then use the new automatic photo & video upload feature. Dropbox will match up to 4.5gb of free extra storage space.

After installing the beta version of Dropbox in the forum link, connect your camera or mobile phone to your computer and make sure that it detects your SD card inside, if not, you may have to put your phone into USB mass storage mode.

There should be an autorun menu that opens. If not, go to 'My Computer', and right click your phone's removable media and click 'Autoplay'.

Select the 'Import pictures and Videos using Dropbox' option and Dropbox will immediately give 500MB of extra storage, and will match every 500MB worth of uploaded photos and videos (up to 4.5GB).

Does this work for videos too? I guess what I'm really asking is if it could be used as a system of file sharing.

It uploaded the videos from my phone. And yes, DB works great for sharing media/files.

I had some video's from my gopro that were not on a camera or sd card, I just copied them onto usb hard drive and put them into a DCIM directory. It found the video's and is uploading it now. We'll see what happens.

Awesome! In case it's not clear what to do, after installing the beta version just connect your camera or mobile phone to your computer and make sure that it detects your SD card inside, if not, you may have to configure your phone to USB mmass storage mode. There should be an autorun menu that opens. If not, go to My Computer, and right click your phone's removeable media, and click Autoplay. Then select the Import pictures and Videos using Dropbox.

Is this a post from dropbox? Not sure how this works. yo uhave to install an "Experimental Forum Build"? "we strongly recommend making a backup of your Dropbox before upgrading to this build as we'll need a few weeks to be certain of its stability" Sorry, i don't use dropbox yet so just a little confused. any further instructions would be cool, thanks!
