I have used this before. For the free scale, you need to pay for the shipping. Only $5 postage will be added to your account immediately. The remaining will be in the form of coupons where one coupon can be used in a month. Those coupons cannot be used during the trial period. Also for cancelling the account, you need to call customer service. It cannot be done online. Also for the first time when you call to cancel, they will mostly try to extend your trial period. I was able to cancel my account during my second month.

Oh, and I think you may have to pay shipping and handling on the "free" scale.

I'm not sure you get the full free $45 postage all at once in the beginning though. I think it may be like $10 a month for a few months or something similar. Just check into if that is important to you.

I've used stamps.com. No problems at all. Pretty straightforward and convenient to use instead of running to the post office
