1) Deal ended yesterday 2) WalMart policy requires them to run a credit check, even if you are simply extended your agreement with your carrier. I talked with AT&T (my carrier) and it is not a requirement by them.

I would call before going there since its always so busy and you have to wait so long for someone to assist in the cell phone dept

A few of my friends bought theirs in Walmart for this price two weeks ago and I saw it in Sams Club too for the same price.

Trust me. They are not missing anything. Got one for my daugther. It makes phone calls, plays music and costs to get apps that are mostly free on an android platform. Not sure if your friends have been watching the news but it's not "trendy" or "cool" anymore to own one. They can do much better.
