I bought the 5600F to scan slides and it does a great job. The pictures are very clear and the colors are perfect.

I was really excited when I saw this the other day, as I'd love to use it to scan film negatives. But I'm wondering if I'm going to be too picky about the results. According to reviews, the big brother model of this scanner still only scans at about 1700 dpi (effective) resolution, and I'd really like it for larger prints that what that gives. http://www.filmscanner.info/en/CanonCanoScan9000F.html I don't know...
