Lifetime Costs of Dog or Cat Ownership

Large dogs to cost so much LESS to take care of than small dogs.
Like puppies, kittens cost more in their first year of life, anywhere from $785 to $1,010 regardless of their housing situations.
An indoor cat may cost her owner triple that of an outdoor cat.
Are the lifetime total costs in the (tens of) thousands worth it? It's worth every cent, some say.

Although, the total cost can probably hit millions of collars if you are Choupette.

I've been very, very lucky with pets. They've rarely needed to go to the vet and that is where the big expense is.
