Twenty Ways You're Getting Ripped Off - Forbes.com

One of these was banking fees which I am so sick of. I was interested to see that wedding gowns and graduation gowns were included, too.

I'm getting ripped off in not being able to read the whole article! And, I didn't get a slide show. What slide show? I got an article that stopped at page 3 after only 8 rip offs. I guess that's enough to take in for one day. :)

Click "next" by the title. It will give you an image and when you hover over the image there is a description of the rip-off and the option to see "the full story" on it. :)

Thanks, I just choose 'read the full story' from under/bottom left of the first pic. It was an actual article and 3 pages long, but it only listed the first 8 or 9 points. Your slide show way did list them all. Thanks.

As a bird who has no use for airline miles, I never knew they were such a total ripoff! Cash back rewards are the way to go!

I never did understand why a $50 Visa Gift Card came with a $4.95 "Purchase Charge" as well. Better to stick with Ulysses Grant!

Good read. It sucks we do get ripped off on just about everything. Although the wedding dress is something special to so many ladies..Most ladies don't care at the time how much it cost they are just so about the wedding.. :)

It is funny when I read the article my sister ordered a wedding dress from China ... everyone was skeptically including myself but it was less than a hundred bucks and I couldn't tell the difference... it is definitely worth looking into if you don't get caught up in the wedding craze.

Intro texts are the worst as they have very little that isn't out there in a hundred forms. I found an open source (as in free) Intro to Psychology text that is every bit as good as the one that my students have to fork out $140 for. There are a lot of good open source texts out there. The publishers are very aggressive marketers and department chairs are not that hard to sell to. The bookstore has an incentive to upgrade everybody to the newest edition so that, for at least one year, they don't have to sell the cheaper used texts. I do have a lot of my student using services that rent books.

I guess they had to stop at 20. There is probably a much longer list that is more comprehensive. Anyway, it was a very good slide show. As I professor, I was glad to see textbooks in their. Textbooks are a HUGE ripoff. I was also curious to see if funerals were there and they were. Nice article! Plus'd.

Thanks for being honest as a professor! I hate buying from the school bookstore. Even those texts where our instructors just pick selected excerpts to make it cheaper are drastically less expensive as the full text online.
