I love this color!!! I always get compliments!!
This color is fabulous and I hope Clairol does NOT discontinue it like they did with the cream color. The liquid is a little tougher to use but it's worth it. It makes my hair look like it was professionally done with light and dark highlights. I get compliments on my color at least once a week and I let my stylist take the credit for how great it looks even though I do it at home. I would spend $1,000 a year if I had it done in the salon! No way! I will use this color forever.. finders crossed! :)

Perfect hair color.
I use this product with a blend of two others from the same line. I am a redhead, so if I don't use Clairol soy plex products, i get hot roots. This is the only product for me!!!

I love this product, but....
I'm new to Sally's, and for my first order, I went with the light cool brown, 4A/46D. It was a bit too light for me, and looks a little brassy when it fades. Since I want to go a bit darker, I'm looking at 57D, ultra cool medium brown. I'm wondering that the difference is between cool and ultra cool i.e. tones. Also, I'm using a 20 volume developer as instructed...would it be less brassy if I used 10? Thanks in advance!

✔ Yes, I recommend this product.

It's not my site. I merely use their products. Frankly, in my opinion, Clairol is no good ever since they went to their "soy" formulas. Ask a local hairdresser; someone who cuts your hair can make a recommendation. I can't recommend any Clairol colors anymore, not for years. Maybe someone else on their site can give you their advice.

Yes, sometimes just using a higher developer will bring the shade up. I also mix mine sometimes. You can add a few drops(or more) of the 9A.

My 14 year old daughter has blonde hair and wanted to try a "temporary" silver/slate color. Is that possible without having to bleach her hair? Thanks in advance!

Wish I could be of more help, but I use a mix of four of the colors to cover some seriously gray hair! But since her hair is naturally blond, you should have no trouble adding a silver or slate. Please note that these are permanent colors; you should definitely try one of Sally's washable colors first. If she really likes it, then you could go with a semi-permanent color. Good luck!

I have been using 3RN for years. With more white/gray, it fades out to a lighter reddish brown. Would mixing an ounce of 2N (dark neutral brown) with a full bottle of 3RN keep the red highlights but reduce the fade? I use a 20 developer.

Unless the directions state otherwise, I’d use a 10 volume developer. 20 probably has too much lift.
