I've picked these up from Ross, Marshalls, and/or TJ Maxx for under $2, but this isn't a bad price at all. I have one in each car. They work great. Grips the dash, and whatever is on top of it very firmly.

Be sure not to put on your airbag though. A cellphone on one of these on your dash airbag could potentially kill you if it when off.

I thought it worked like a magnet but in the description it also says "Don't let papers, glasses, or anything else you may keep on your dashboard distract you while driving."
Papers? That throws me off.

it's a soft, gel-ish material that is KIND OF like those silicone phone cases... it just grips things really well because of the texture of the material
