These fascinating fish are livebearers who can rapidly reproduce in a community aquarium because they give birth to babies, rather than laying eggs. To aid in survival, provide hiding spaces for baby fish. Guppies are omnivores, which mean they eat both plan and animal matter, including small live foods and certain vegetables.

You will see your guppy swimming in the middle and at the top of your aquarium. To create a beautiful aquarium environment, be sure to add some bottom swimmers as well. Ask a PetSmart associate to help you choose.

For a buck it would make for a great first pet for the little ones. Start to show them a little responsibility.

I have been thinking about getting fish, just not sure what kind to get? This at least gets me to consider and research fish, thanks.

Awesome, I'll have to pick up a few guppies and a Beta, thanks for the heads up! A few of our fish ate the others and we never replaced them...

Umm... if you're putting betas with guppies, that's probably the reason why they're eating each other ;x

Nope. The Beta goes by his lonesome in a separate aquarium. Would you believe a goldfish ate two goldfish and three guppies its size? :P
