I received a $50 rebate from a 160GB Maxtor HDD from a while back without any problems.

I just had to fight with T-mobile for weeks for my MIR. I think I'll take a break for a while.

I have actually had pretty good experiences with MIR lately. It is a pain, but so long as you follow the directions, it can work out pretty well. So far I think I am 9/9 for this year on MIRs.

I'll admit that I haven't had any experience with's rebates, but TigerDirect and even NewEgg weren't very friendly. One was a third-party, and one was direct from manufacturer. No dice either way :(

I do not like to be bothered with mail in rebates. They are too much of a hassle and sometimes they do not even go through.

Everyone's so quick to bash mail in rebates. I've had tons from and have had no problems with them. This is a great deal.

I wish you luck with the MIR. I've had my experiences with them, and I'm not banking on them again.

Wow, I'm getting a brilliant idea.
Step 1- Buy
Step 2- MIR
Step 3- Receive money from MIR
Step 4- Sell on ebay
Step 5- Profit?!?!?

With that sort of deal, I'm thinking about getting one... and I don't even have anything which uses Firewire.
