Advice on "silverware" for a wedding?

Hey all,

Some good friends of mine are getting married in a few months and I want to help them out with some planning and what not.

They are on a tight budget since their parents aren't helping them, they want good food but the cost of renting plates is around 700-800 dollars. They don't mind putting more money to food and drinks if they can get cheaper plates (even disposable) as long as they look nice. Are there any nice (even fancy) plates by the bulk that anyone here could recommend? Oh it's for about 150 people

Thanks kindly,
John

There are plastic plates that look nice and have been used for weddings. Here's a site that has some

Also, I would get quotes from a handful of companies to see if anyone will offer a better price regardless of what type of dishes you get.

Oh, already they look gorgeous... I'm going to explore this site and google up other rental companies too in the area. Thanks!

The DollarTree.com has real plates for $1 ea, maybe recoup some $$ reselling. Also check their catering section, there's a nice plastic 8/$3.

Also, silverware may be cheaper to buy at Sam's club or somewhere similar versus renting.
