Black Friday Prices Higher Than Previous Sales?

Has anybody noticed that a lot of "Black Friday" promotions are featuring prices higher than the previous sales, from merchants like Belk? Some of the Groupon "80% Off " deals have been at those price levels since last year. Disappointing.

Black Friday falls later this year than ever, on November 29th. That means the lowest possible number of shopping days between Black Friday and Christmas.

What stores have you noticed with less than best discounts?

So true!
In my opinion, most stores mix their best deals with less than best deals.
I am thinking of making a list of things to buy and keeping track of their price range to avoid falling for anything like this.

I remember last year a lot of the items I wanted were cheaper on Cyber Monday than Black Friday, and I was glad I waited for a better discount.

Doorbuster items are lower. Then again, that's why they are called doorbuster? I would try to order them online to secure it and then pick up in-store, if possible. :)

We have always scored some great discounts at Lowe's doing just that! We get online at midnight Thanksgiving Day to order the items, and pick them up at our convenience. ;)

Yes, some merchants will deliberately raise the price on Black Friday, resulting in a small discount.
