Costco vs Sam's Club

Costco and Sam's are two great competitors. Has anyone experienced with both of them? If a person wants to become member of one of these two, which one would you suggest and why?

I have been member of both mentioned clubs over the years. I am now a member of BJ's. Honestly I feel they are all the same for the most part. Bulk rules, lots of over-sized packages. You leave with boxes instead of bags. If you plan it right you can sample your way into a small lunch.

I am currently a member of the closest club to my home and at this point it is BJ's. So in my opinion all clubs have similarities and I like them all for different reasons, but proximity to my home rules at this point. jmo :)

Costco was fun for the year, but I always ended up spending more than I wanted to spend, and the cash back did not add up to the membership price for their most expensive membership. Sam's club is cheaper overall I think, and I would get more cash back, and they have really Saturday hours that also gives you a free small breakfast basically.

I'm a member at both Costco and Sam's Club (both stores happen to be right next to each other where I live haha) and I think they're both great! I've noticed that Costco will have a lot of things that Sam's Club doesn't have and vice versa. I really can't say one is better than the other, but I've definitely noticed one thing: the parking lot in Sam's Club seems a lot less lethal lol. Why is it that Costco parking lots are always crazy no matter what city you're in?

Overall, Costco. But if you have access to both, I would say whichever is closer to your location.

And I found an article with a similar point of view: https://www.businessinsider.com/costco-and-sams-club-compared-pictures-details-2018-3#as-i-walked-further-through-the-store-i-was-greeted-by-a-seemingly-endless-selection-of-bulk-sized-snacks-7

Hmm, my husband and I have a membership at Costco. I haven't tried out Sam's Club so I'd go with Costco, but only because it's what I know. Any major differences between the two that are better or worse?
