Do you like rebates?

3 0
I have never forgotten to submit a mail in rebate--I always get all the money back!

Therefore, I adore rebates. Today, for example, I went to Menards and got a humingbird attracting tospy turvy planter, 5 bottles of Vaseline Sheer Infusion lotion, 10 bottles of TIGI haircare, and 2 pairs of sunglasses. They are free after mail in rebate--I just put the envelope in the mail box after scanning all my submission info.

So it'll all be free!! Yes :) The best ones are the ones where you get more money back than you spent out of pocket. Love it!

Do you guys remember your rebates? Or is it too much trouble and not anything you'll ever remember to submit?

I hate rebates, I never get all of them back....rather just wait for clearance sales.

Rez, you do get some pretty great clearance deals! I remember you posted something about finding great Target clearance.

Would you mind sharing which companies didn't come through? That would be helpful for rebate-a-holics like me :)

After researching rebate fulfillment companies and reading of all the tactics they employ to decline them, I am not a fan of rebates.

I'm more likely to return the ones that you can do online.

i really dont like rebates after you purchase the item they can deny any rebate for any single reason if you read the fine print some of them tell you if you fill out the form in another color ink than the one specified you can get denied. i consider myself lucky that only once i never got my money back and it was a $10 from a motherboard like 3 years ago.

Not really. Too often I forget to fill them out and send them in. When I do, I have a good return rate.

I used to do tons or rebates on tech items, but they are a rare find these days. I always scanned all submitted materials and followed up on any that tried to BS their way out of paying.

I did some kitchen item rebates from JCPenney, but they almost never came even with aggressive followup, so I'm done with them for good.

I'm annoyed that most rebates now come as a prepaid Visa card, which is yet another attempt by the fulfillment houses to generate "breakage" by making it difficult to spend every last cent on the card. I get around that by purchasing a gift card for the full rebate amount on Amazon or Newegg and using it myself, but I'd rather just put the money back in my bank account.

I like rebates. Certain places are much easier than others. Menards happens to be pretty easy and Ive never had any issues with them. Other rebates are a pain in the butt.

I don't like rebates because of the hassle but I won't pass up a great deal with a rebate. Just have to make sure to mail in and track. Staples is one of the better ones I experienced that handles rebates rather well for the consumer.
