I completely agree :) thank you Ezzy! This way we can get a better sense of why a particular user didn't like a deal. That would be incredibly helpful.

I am trying not to take the thumbs down personal as I think new members are trying to get certified by voting and being active. I do think comments would help vs. a thumbs down. I actually feel the thumbs down should be eliminated all together. It is not helpful as no one has any idea why you pushed that thumb :--)

Thanks, DealsorNoDeals! It's disheartening to see a deal drop points when considerable time and effort were put into a deal. There seems to be a resurgence in "thumbs-down." It happened 5-6 years ago for a few months; but the DP staff eventually weeded out those who were excessively
using the "thumbs-down."
Thanks for your constructive comments:)

Definitely a good suggestion. WHen you thumb down a coupon, you have to pick a reason from a set list, so you at least get an idea. Perhaps something like that could be implemented for deals.

yeah...nobody should be able to THUMB DOWN a deal without a reason...the question is: should it be the same when you THUMB UP a deal?

That's an interesting idea too zoneric.
Would you want a preset list of why you like it, or being forced to leave a comment? Or a list with a comment option?
MusicalDealer (L3) posted Jan 21, 2018
Maybe both...leave a comment or choose a reason or both...something to see why someone likes a deal...maybe that way you can discourage users thumbing up their friends deals for no reason :)
