Duplicated deals - why is this happening so much?

3 0
I see deals duplicated four and five times over a span of an hour or two.  When you submit a deal you are told if it is a duplicate and if you go forward anyway, the deal is supposed to go to a moderator.  Are people using slightly different URLs or are the mods simply allowing it?  I think if you go to the trouble to post a great deal you should get credit for the deals via people clicking on it.  It is discouraging to know that your work can easily be duplicated by four or five other folks and your efforts are not rewarded as they should be.  Am I missing something?  Two Christmas' ago when I was very active posting deals there was rarely a dupe and they were quickly removed.  What has changed?

I have had same issue,on both sides.I have had my submissions duplicated and in another instance have had it be a duplicate but it never came up as one. I notice sometimes people will change, just slightly, some info so it goes through! They should be banned!
I will say when I notified moderator it was taken care of promptly, kudos for them.
I feel your frustration and agree 100% with you!

I have to admit i'm also been on both sides. But sometimes what appears to be a duplicate are actually new or different links to the same deal, especially the freebie magazines. Check the URL.
I don't make a big deal anymore, it goes both ways. If it doesn't get flagged and someone gets more hits, its all good.

i've been asking the same thing -

@chuckydealpl - the thing is, most of those "new link deals" have old deals with working links to that same deal. What irks me the most is the people getting away with this were the ones originally complaining.
They also get credit for "raising" prices. (some are obvious because the lower price is still in the title of the item or displays the old "product descriptions")

*I* am hoping for consistency and accuracy from both sides - verify the info BEFORE hitting "submit" and verify the info BEFORE bumping to the FP. (verify = check for dupes and post correct coupon info).

The Joann Jerzey Tee shirt deal has been duped eight times so far. People are getting around it buy loading URLs for different colors of the Tshirts to get around having an exact duplicate. I flagged all the dupes though I wonder if that will work. If I were the first person to find the deal I would find this maddening.
