Payments for December and January will be made within a couple weeks. An email will be sent very shortly, since the original email seems to not have sent.

I will still post deals just as I did before MM but my monthly "fun money" will be greatly missed as our household runs on a pretty tight budget. But I do appreciate what I earned in the past and I appreciate that DP made it possible for quite a long while.

It was fun posting on here with my fellow DP users. I look forward to your come back and I will be waiting right here :) Thank you MM for everything.

I hope that we get the community "bulletin board" back as we used to have before it was buried here. I greatly enjoyed the interactions and maybe some of the previous animosity will be absent since MM is gone.

I received the email, unfortunately they have taken away the ability to see what deals you had posted, the money you had due etc. but as I've not been posting deals lately for me I'm sure it wasn't much.

I have kept a daily spreadsheet going back to day one. So, with the exception of what I made last night (if they are counting that) I know exactly what I have earned in January. My Jan + Dec is pretty significant so I do hope I receive it and I hope it doesn't really take two weeks. It was a fun ride and they had a business decision to make and I respect as I was in that world for 18 years and these situations arise. Losing MM is painful but I remain a DP fan.

Tarastock, I'm sorry. I was telling my wife that I suspected MM payments had become important parts of some budgets and losing it has to be very difficult.
erick99 (L3) posted Jan 13, 2017
thank you erick99. It's going to be really hard. My husband just recently started his own business and it's hard times at the moment. We have six kids and I really counted on my earnings to provide things we could not afford without it :( i have no idea what I'm going to do. Anyone have any suggestions for other websites I could try? I have been here almost 10 years.

it was so sad..losing this job is a good source of our needs..but i was hoping they will come back soon for good. im still here supporting the dealsplus community because i love posting deals.we are waiting for the right time to come.dont forget us.!
crazyou (L4) posted Jan 13, 2017
It's a sad day but I think it was inevitable. And it's because everyone was included in the MM program without being a part of the community first (proving they post good deals and/or coupons, being a part of Ask&Share). And that just ended with spam and stuff just for the money ... I remember that before applying to the MM I posted lots of deals and coupons before being accepted. And approvals were made manually by mods.
zoneric (L5) posted Jan 14, 2017
Zoneric, yes that was my experience as I remember applying as soon as the program was introduced and it was not automatic,

I didn't know MM went to just anyone could be a part. When I referred my friend a year ago, she was denied at first. For three months she input great codes, and then asked again if she could join, and it took a week before the Mods approved her. Why did they change it?
Bearsybear (L5) posted Jan 14, 2017
GOOD! It was nothing but a scam anyway for people to work hard and post good deals only to have the "sneaky mods" steal credit and moderate OUR DEALS just so they could get the money credit! I for one am glad it's done and am very satisfied because this was nothing but a SCAM! Shame on dealsplus for cheating people!
LilRed77 (L5) posted Jan 14, 2017
Yes creative lord I hear myself and the emails explains it all. Their members were dropping like flies because everyone got tired of their shenanigans! Dealsplus scammed the hard workers out of money and claimed deals as their own constantly "changing" them with a few words and changing a picture and it would show up as updated with their name on the deal. The deals had no REAL changes just words and pics so they got credit for the deals that the MM's worked hard on! If they focused their time on deleting the scam deals instead of focusing on good deals that they could tweak to get credit for high clicking deals, then they wouldn't have to worry about so many bad deals being posted. People knew what was happening and the dramatic drop in members and traffic to this site proves it!
LilRed77 (L5) posted Jan 14, 2017
That's what moderators do, they edit a deal to make it more interesting, and the edits do not affect your earnings. Indeed, there was some problems but, I assure you that it's not an easy work to maintain a site like this.
CreativeLord (L5) posted Jan 14, 2017
I never saw my per-click earnings halved after a moderator edited the item.
erick99 (L3) posted Jan 14, 2017
I enjoyed the community bulletin board a lot and I hope we get it back in exchange for losing MM (and posted prominently). Yes, we still have it but you have to know that it is buried in the FAQs menu which can only be found at the bottom of a page. Let's go back to enjoying each others company.
erick99 (L3) posted Jan 14, 2017
Eric...you don't see it halved...they got credit for messing with our deals...it wasn't about taking money away, it's about having the mm program to have people post the deals and then they take the credit by Messi g with good deals! They didn't mess with them to make them "look" better because I posted deals just like the mods did! I took screenshots of all my deals and the GOOD WEBSITES they tweaked my deals by adding or subtracting 1 or 2 words and that is NOT MAKING THE DEAL BETTER. Every deal that they "tweaked", they got payed for. So I take the time to make a good deal and they go and remove or added 1 word so it would get "updated" and their name took over MY DEAL! And they got payed for the clicks...why do you think they only payed us 1 cent per click? Because they got the other money! They CHEATED and I guarantee you the law had something to do with it because they were scamming the MM's!!!
LilRed77 (L5) posted Jan 14, 2017
i have to agree I Found it a little strange. It was something new though- it wasn't until the past few months I seen their names listed on my deals. I wonder if this truly was what was happening that made this all fall apart.
taratstock (L5) posted Jan 15, 2017
Other sites don't pay their members so perhaps it's a failed business model. I think it was well-meaning but it also meant that people were dumping every item they could into the system whether it was a good/hot deal or not. I will miss the money but the quality of the posts may improve.
erick99 (L3) posted Jan 15, 2017
erick99, other sites do pay their contributors. Just check out Coupon Chief.
Bearsybear (L5) posted Jan 15, 2017
Is it worth spending hours of everyday time on something you won't get honored?
Also, the quality of posts won't improve by closing the MM program.
I think at some point the MM will be back again.

bearsybear, I apologize. I was referring to what I perceive as the two other large sites: SlickDeals and FatWallet. Do the sites you refer to pay in cash and can you make about what you made here with roughly the same time and effort? I will certainly look into them. Thanks for the info :)
