I drink mine straight. Diluted only with ice. Some people say that there is a perfect temperature, being around 50 degrees and undilluted. The only way to get there is to use the whiskey stones. I've never tried them. That mainly applies to American whiskeys. I've not had much Scotch.

haha you cannot try anything for free in Los Angeles. @cod681 I can imagine the face they give you when you ask. The Macallan I got was an 18 year and it is considered top shelf - $150 a bottle... most bars in LA don't carry high end whiskey, especially those stupid dive or hipster or Hollywood places. @Nvaldera, will look into it.
I drank some more with whiskey stones of the Macallan, it is quite amazing. I am very impressed.
