yea... i thought that too. but it would have been thumbs upped first. maybe they thumbs upped. then quickly (haha) gained a great rep then thumbs downed it. haha :)

I think it's a result of the new Heating Up section. I tested on one of my own deals: even though they show the thumbs, it goes towards the plus count, not the thumb up/down working meter within the post.

Since I have 4 plusses to give, if I down-thumb a deal in the Heating Up section, it'll subtract 4 plusses from the deal's total. If you're a 4-plus member and a 5-plus member thumbs down your deal, you're at a -1 right off the bat. :(
