I always wondered what is the real difference between led-lcd and lcd tvs?

I was looking at reviews and I see that its thinner but the black levels are sometimes not as good. do you think i should buy a led or save a couple 100 with an lcd? looks arent such a big deal for me seeing how i have a 32' fat tv.

There is a very big difference. Your fat lcd is lit by 4-8 lamps. An LCD every pixel is lit by a seperate LED light. So every teeny tiny pixel has a gigantic range in contrast, color and brightness.
