i think this was explained by a mod from another thread that the front page should have a variety of items (ie. home, electronies, etc). If we have 5 tupperware deals on heating up, they will not allow all 5 of the same kind of items to be on front page. the mods will have to pick from the heating up section as to which will make it to front page.
hope this helps :)

I agree w/gangstabarbie. Also, we have a lot of MM's here & a lot of good deals some posting over a 100 daily with reps that are high enough that some vote & comment for them automatically. Some o.k., some good, some great. If we had that rule we would have some o.k., all good, great & superb deals on FP & the weeding out process DP is trying to achieve could not be accomplished & we'd need either a bigger FP or tinier deals!

hmmm very interesting I can see how people would take advantage of that but I also kinda agree with mnvikings :) Very tough indeed for the mods to pick what should go on the front page. Good luck MODS!!

i don't think it will work just imagine 4 pluses from a 5 star rep and its up front page they will be plusing each other and front page will be flooded with same deals over and over. thats why we need the mods controlling what goes up

Yup, I think what we have in place is best. I know it is frustrating when you are watching your deal to see if it will make it! Good luck :)

I have stopped looking at the heating up section. I always set myself up for disappointment. I post as many deals as I can and hope that one will make front page every month.

you can have 20+ pluses on your deal, but this does not mean that the deal is popular. if you have 4 friends with 5 stars rep, all your deals can have 20+. but this does not mean that all your deals are front page material, no offense. I posted around 1000+ deals and only 5 or 6 made the front page. this is the way it works. mods decide what goes on the FP. plus, what others said before me.

What does everyone think of the idea to have "the views" listed with the deal? If you compare "most plusses" to "most clicks," you can see where people's interests really are. ;)
