This is very true! I work for a hospital and I've been told by many doctors and patients that the onion works best when it comes to the flu and other viral illnesses. I've even seen patients who have skinned onions and put them in their socks (while on their feet). Sure enough these people were protected while their family had the flu. Alot of your common colds start at your feet (weird huh). What is there to hurt? After all, no medications can cure the common cold or viral flu that is going around, so why not give it a try? Thanks for sharing I enjoyed this post!!!

It's funny you said about the oions in the sock.Because my mom did put sliced onions in my dads socks while he slept. The next day he felt much better. :)

I dated a girl who had some Native American onion cure that she would use when she got a cold. She'd take onions and cook them in the oven for a while in water, then wrap them in a kitchen towell and wrap them around her neck or some such. She swore it worked. Smelled like a Carl's Junior franchise, but hey...whatever works for you.

I would leave it there until it starts looking like it needs to be changed.

I am ALL about homeopathic healing and this sounds really neat! Cheap and worth a try in my book! Thanks to everyone for sharing! :)

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing, just providing a link to what I read online: http://www.snopes.com/medical/swineflu/onion.asp
