People Re-posting their deals in the Ask & Share Section

42 3
What does everyone think of people reposting their deals in the ask and share section?

It seems to be unfair if you ask me and if everyone starts doing it, they're just going to have to eliminate this section all together because it's just going to be full of duplicates that were already posted as deals.  People are taking advantage of the ask and share section to try and increase the hits on their deals for MM purposes.

Thoughts? Agree? Disagree?

I haven't posted any of my deals here, but if everyone thinks it's appropriate, then I may start for deals that are time sensitive.

Its wrong but I see where they are coming from. With such a flood of deals constantly its hard to get noticed sometimes with all the junk cluttering this site. Still shouldn't be happening.

I am guilty of doing it. It is out of frustration. My deal hit 76 and never made it to the front page. Yet many luke warm posts that hit front page and stay front page at 15 plusses.

This one hit 54 and never made front page

I personally don't mind if someone does it because it is often a really awesome deal and often time sensitive. It does bother me, however, when someone posts a dup on ask and share without making a real effort to check because that takes away from the op's hits.

the ask & share section shouldn't be for deals. there's a deal section for that. if we abuse it, it might get closed down. and we do not want that, do we?

Some deals are not sales, it could be a event. Is there a difference between a event or sale? Also, someone may have posted it as a sale, but another person may not have seen it yet, and thought it'd be nice to share it.
I only did this once, and after I noticed that someone had posted it as a deal.
For instance, if a store is having a SALE event, that could be posted as a deal or it could be something someone wants to share.
Personally, I think that if someone wants to post a store's SALE event, instead of just one particular item- it should be in the ASK & SHARE section... That is what it is there for... to share.
If some place is having a once in a lifetime event or sale, it's nice to SHARE it with everyone.

I personally have no problem with it! Keep them coming!

Apparently the majority of people agree with me about this. If your deal is that good, it will be noticed. You don't need to repost it in the ask and share section.

There are so many deals posted that get LOST! I actually look to the ask and share area for super deals that are time sensitive and need a second look.

Agrees with KRMILLS1

Front page deals aren't the real deal......find in ask and share section

The whole site is about deals. Ask and share section seems fine to me.

Sometimes they end up posted here because they are not accepted when trying to post as a regular deal,as an example I get messages that the site isn't found in DP store list.
If it's a deal I think people should know about and can benefit from I will post it in ask and share,I did have an instance where that happened and then after I posted it in ask and share it turned up in the regular deals posts too.
I guess I should have waited but most of the time my deals don't ever show up when I get that message.
