i work for a shipping company not OnTrac and my advice will be to speak to supervisor on this obviously the driver is not even making the attempt to deliver the package call and ask to speak to a supervisor you can also arrange to meet with the driver lets say the corner of such and such street just make sure you have a photo id with same address as the one in the package and the last option will be to pick up the package (will call) in that case you can talk to the manager face to face and all they will do is say im sorry

My shipping gripe is with UPS. I have problems with UPS. I do a lot of online ordering. 90% of my packages arrive with some kind of damage to the box. 60% moderate damage. 20% major box damage like major dents or punctures. Would they want people handling their items like that?
I get some packages from Fedex or the US Postal service. I rarely ever get a damaged package from them.
I wish merchants would all give a choice of shippers. I would NEVER choose UPS.

My friend works for UPS in one of their main loading hubs. The amount of packages coming down the chutes into the trucks for certain destinations sometimes crushes the boxes. Smaller boxes gets crushed by the larger heavier ones if they are not loaded fast enough. I don't even want to mention what they do when it starts piling up.

I agree with @rd995. Ask for the supervisor. I really think the driver is just being lazy and not making an effort. Even if they give him all the notes to get there, he might just be saying screw it and not even trying. I've had this happen before and had to talk to supervisors to get it fixed.

all the complaints that you see from fedex and ups its because of lazy drivers that give the company a bad name and some cant get fired because the union will back them up, if you guys remember some time ago about a driver that threw a tv or monitor and the video went viral online that same guy didn't get fired he was just moved from his position for some time

Man, I never realized how common terrible delivery companies can be. I've always had decent experiences before. Thanks for the tips and stories all.
If anyone cares for an update on my story--
I didn't call and ask to speak to a manager. I just gave up, contacted Amazon, and had them cancel my order. I didn't say this in my initial post, but this post that didn't make it was a REPLACEMENT order they sent, because the first order never made it to my apartment. So I ended up missing two different shipments. Bravo, UPS and OnTrac.
