Should everyone be required to show what they “updated”

5 0
Lately I have been seeing people (well specifically two people) who “update” deals that have been frontpaged or have been plussed a lot of times and when I looked at the deal before they “updated” it looks exactly the same after... Has anyone else been noticing that? Is there anything I should do if I see that? Do you think being required to show what they updated would help?

Just because someone updates a deal doesn't mean that they get credit for the deal. I always post what I updated on a deal.

I think if you notice any funny business you should report it to the site. There's always going to be jerks trying to work the system in their favor. If you report them the site will do their best to hunt them down and give them a really messy "Wet Willie".

In addition to what jamesjr55, just because they updated the deal that does NOT mean we're actually using their update.

@BigJJ Maybe we could have a small .gif next to their pic of a "wet willie" ;)

I usually post what I did. Like

First Check your MM grid to see if the deal you submitted is still getting whole credit or half. If you see that it's half you can either simply ask the editor thru their profile messages, or send an inquiry.

One thing to think about is that if your deal was submitted over 24 before its highly unlikely that you would get many more views anymore. In this case it can benefit you to have someone bring it back into the mix, expecially if it makes front page. Even if you have to share credit, half is better than nothing.

@Brent Sometimes it is hard to even locate a deal in your MM grid. I wish they would put the search feature back on there. That way we could search a deal to see if we are getting credit at all.

I've noticed a couple of people that are posting duplicates A LOT. Not only that, they take someone else link and find more and then send you to the same link for the other things. Always end up in the same place. This is really getting frustrating.

I usually put what I updated. It lets the original submitter see what has been changed.

Just put in the comments something like $5 price drop/increase, new coupon added, etc.
