Stealing ... Tide?

So I heard on the news this morning that Tide (yes, the laundry soap) is being stolen in mass quantities across the nation and being used for currency on the street. It goes for about $10-20 retail in stores, but can be bought for half that on the mean, Tide-loving streets of your neighborhood. What's up with that? The radio said towns are making Tide Task Forces to check out stores and apprehend the laundry thieves.

Yeah I heard that story too. I didn't realize that the economy had gotten so bad that we were using alternative currency. I'd hate to have to sit on the WALLET that hadda carry around enough Tide to get me through the day.

Money laundering....with Tide. Whats the world coming to?

Yup, it's a huge issue @Home Depot stores even. To the point that they have had store meetings about it!

Yea, I heard that. I guess they're exploiting the fact that if you walk out the door with something large, everyone assumes that you purchased it. Very interesting trend, but I doubt it will last very long.

I cant wait to see the drug dealers in Chicago selling Tide next to crack. lol

Strange! It looks like Tide has taken the place once occupied by baby formula. But why is Tide more fungible than anything else thieves could steal?
