I agree with both you and Acidbaby- Here in Miami, the media tried so hard to make the Tropical Storm Issac more so than it actually turned out to be. And even when it only did some damage in certain areas, they showed those areas over and over again as if it was all over in FL. Meanwhile, it must have been in one neighborhood and that was it. When it finally did become the status of a hurricane on its way to New Orleans, they were so excited they can finally call it what it is!!!!!
Also, like Acidbaby said - a watch or a warning- just means there is potential for a storm or tornado to hit... not necessarily going to happen. Or that it could be near the area you're living in.

I was directly run over by a small tornado last year while working. We saw the funnel forming and by time I snapped a pic it was on top of us. I wish they could get the stuff right too but there is just no way to predict a tornado so warnings and watches are about all they can do when there are prime conditions for one to occur.
