What exactly is the front page process?

4 1
I ask this not complaining, but in genuine curiosity.  I am noticing inconsistencies in the front page deals, and I am curious about what formula is used in promoting a page to the front page.  Here is an example of what I see:

As of writing this, the 15 plus deal was on the front page and the 26 plus deal did not make the front page.

Is it the speed at which it reaches a certain amount of pluses?

Do the moderators choose certain deals to make the front page despite the number of pluses?

Is there a magical algorithm created by the most talented developers and scientists that is too complicated to explain?

Whatever the process, I think DP can do it any way they feel is best.  It seems to work pretty good.  Like I said, I am just curious.

I personally think that Dealspl monitors how many people are clicking on a deal and how many are going to the website to actually purchase! Lot of people just plus a certain deal and comment on it because they have 15 comments a day to take advantage of that benefit. A deal could have 25 pluses in 13hrs but only 100 views before reaching the front page and another deal can only have 15 pluses in 13 hrs with about 250 view! I think its kinda based on the following;
1) How much a deal is going to benefit monetarily to dealspl as a website!
2) How many views did that deal get in a certain amount of time!
3) How unique the deal is!

This is just my theory and off course there can be many more explanations to this. I just like having fun here! :)

I don't understand it either but Florida does explain it best.
