Depends on what type of guy he is? Does he like tech electronics? sports? gadgets? and most importantly, what's your budget?

i'm definitely into electronics and food. i feel like you usually can't go wrong with those two categories, but like TOTOOO said..it depends on what type of guy he is. Budget definitely plays a role. I mean..a Kindle is neat if he's a reader, but totally lame if he hates to read. Plus with the same amount of money, he might rather have an electronic shaver or something.

Yeah its kind of hard to know if we dont know what he likes. Me personally I tell everyone to just get me gifts cards. I know its cliche to say its the thought that counts but I have gotten so many things that I either give away or throw in the trash or the attic thats its silly. Food is always good for a guy so baskets or assortments from places like Hickory Farms, Harry and David, nutsonline.com, etc. If he likes sports then there is deals like the 2 college hoodies from finishline for $30. I would stay away from tools though, that is the kind of thing that guy buy a tool when they need that specific tool, a sears or lowes gift card helps here.

You should definitely ask him (indirectly) what he wants for his birthday? Just make up a story or something like "my co-worker's/friend's anniversary is coming up and she doesn't know what to get her husband, have any ideas or suggestions?"
It sounds a little weird but make something up to see what he really wants.

Go to Radio Shack and take a look at gadgets. Most guys like weather items so a weather radio that displays severe weather warnings is always cool. There are also some weather forecasting gadgets that grab the weather over-the-air (it's sort of like cell service but it's free).

You can never go wrong with food. Make him his favorite dinner or treat him out to his favorite restaurant.
Gifts that don't cost much:
1. A night out with the guys
2. A case of his favorite beer or a selection of beers from around the world
3. let him be in charge of the remote :)
4. If he's a sports nut, get him a ticket to his favorite game
