I'm Italian so it's always rigatoni with meatballs (we don't like bacala), a salad, rolls, antipasto...and lots of desserts.

Since we have a turkey feast on Thanksgiving, I like to make a giant pan of lasagna.

Christmas Eve dinner used to be just my wife and I. We would have lobster by candle light. Many years ago, we started including our parents. Now we have 2 kids as well. This year, we have invited my wife's brother, who is 31 and not in a relationship, rather that let him spend Christmas Eve alone. Steak is offered as an alternative to lobster. We'll have a champagne (and sparkling grape juice) toast. Being a beer geek, I will find a special Christmas beer to pair with dinner. This year's special dessert will be a homemade eggnog cheesecake (if I can find a recipe). Candles will still be lit.

Ham! Every year a pig must die. Love it. If we have a lot of guests we have a turkey as well.
