What Kind Of Person Are You? Do You Think People Can Change?

I don't know if you believe me, but I was extremely pessimistic when I was younger. Everything was gray. But I have changed. At some point I realized that i need to live my life. So, I started being positive. Everything changed for me after that. And I mean everything. Things have a way of balancing for me.

The problem is that people don't believe in change. I do, because I lived it...Which one of you does believe people can really change?

People DO change. We learn & grow from our mistakes. But we all have setbacks from time to time where we fall back into old familiar habits. It's hard to get people to take notice of the effort you make to start new habits.

Everyone changes. I have stayed somewhat the same in my beliefs other than religion. I have gone from being homeless at 18 to a father at 20, and again at 23, while struggling through life deciding which bills to pay each month. To now a proud father of 3, with one child in the US Navy, a gorgeous grandson, and 2 more amazing kids, and a great job.And best of all I have gotten to spend the last 20 years with my soulmate who is the most amazing person I have ever met (yeah we discussed this before) You need to fight for what you want in life, not just change

Personality is fairly set in stone by puberty but often before. It generally takes a huge event in someone's life to change their core personality. Laid back 18 year olds are laid back 78 year olds and cranky 20 year olds are cranky 70 year olds. A specific trait might change due to experience, change, or, again, a big event. But a person's characteristic way of interacting with people (in general) doesn't. We describe a personality as ". . .relatively enduring traits . ." because there are situations where we might act differently than we usually do. We can certainly learn from a person that we are close to and that may alter a single trait but that persons personality would still be more-or-less stable over their lifetime.

i really like people that know themselves, that know their limits. every thing we do in our lives defines as a human being...

Nobody knows themselves IMO. We learn new things about ourselves every day, we are constantly evolving, and none of us know our limits because they change as we are tested. Sorry, youre just using cliches that really arent true here in the real world where the clouds arent made of marshmallows and rivers of chocolate milk.
