Spring is finally here and we couldn’t be happier. To celebrate, we’re having a toast to warmer weather, outdoor picnics, walks in the park and vacations. Of course, we can’t toast with just any drink, so here are recipes for five delicious and simple cocktails that will keep you smiling all spring long:

1. Hurricane

This is a classic cocktail that tastes fantastic and is even colored like spring in a nice, bright yellow and pink.

The recipe for a pitcher-full from TheKitchn.com only includes four ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of dark rum
  • Passion fruit syrup
  • Fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • Ice

Get the full recipe here.

2. White Sangria

You’re probably more used to red wine sangria, but white is so much crisper and “springier.” Although this one takes more ingredients to make, it’s definitely worth it if you’re looking for a yummy and fruity drink to celebrate the change of season.

Punchbowl.com suggests including the following for your pitcher:

  • Peach schnapps
  • Cognac
  • White sugar
  • Oranges, sliced into rounds
  • Green apples cut into cubes
  • Mangos, peeled and sliced
  • 4 bottles dry white wine, chilled
  • 1 liter ginger ale, chilled

Get the full recipe here.

3. Mojito

You might connect the mojito more with the dripping heat of summer and horse races and big hats, but we think this is the perfect drink to thank goodness that it’s no longer winter and to get excited for the summer.

Here’s what you will need:

  • Ice
  • 6 ounces light rum
  • Mint sprigs or spearmint
  • Fresh lime juice
  • Sugar
  • Club soda
  • Lime

Foodnetwork.com has this simple recipe.

4. Greyhound

You can’t get simpler than this grapefruit drink, found on Chow.com:

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 4 ounces fresh grapefruit juice

5. April Shower

April showers bring May flowers, right? The ingredients in this drink will delight both women and men alike and the bright yellow color will have you thinking of fields full of daffodils and sunflowers after the rain.

About.com lists the ingredients for one drink:

  • 1 ounce brandy
  • 1/4 ounce Yellow Chartreuse
  • 1 ounce orange juice

Enjoy your toast and the sunshine to follow, and remember, always drink responsibly!
