First off, Super Mario Run will be coming to Apple iOS exclusively and to announce the official news was Shigeru Miyamoto, one of the most critically acclaimed game developer in the industry. “Super Mario Run” will be a brand new game featuring 3 different modes.
You can play the game in the normal 2 dimensional Super Mario levels and your goal would be to collect as many coins as possible within a specific time frame. Mario will be in auto-running mode and players can tap the screen to jump.
In the second mode, there will be something called “Toad Rally” where you can compete against other player to see who collects the most coins.
Finally, in the third mode, you can create your very own Mushroom Kingdom using the coins collected. This part was a little vague but I guess we’ll just have to find out for ourselves once the game launch later this year.
Apple introduce their ConnectED partnership and pledged $100 million of educational programs and technology to 114 schools across the country. In doing so, Apple will be giving away Macs and iPads to 4500 teachers and donating iPads to more than 50,000 students plus, introducing Apple TV in every classroom. You can follow Apple’s ConnectED journey here.
Apple will also be focusing on a program called “Everyone Can Code” which aims to help kids pick up the most widely used coding language via interactive learning tool. A big player of this learning tool is called Swift Playgrounds which involves fun puzzles, games and will pave the way for any beginners to coding in a fresh and exciting way.
Brand new to iWork is the ability to now collaborate with your team, classmates, friends or family in real-time. Apple displayed a demonstration of how real-time collaboration (public and private) works on Keynote and this featured will be available across all Apple products. This is something that already exists for those who frequently use Google Docs/Sheets/Powerpoint or Microsoft so it looks like Apple is finally catching up!
