1. Travel Nurse

Nurses are in high demand and short supply in many areas around the world. With the right schooling, training and capabilities, this could totally be to your advantage, as travel nurses are some of the first to fill open positions whenever they open up. Instead of working in a local hospital, you could travel all around the country, from one hospital to another, caring for all different types of people and experiencing all different cultures. Travel nurses typically work for a specific company that provides their employees with housing accommodations, a travel stipend, and an extremely competitive salary.

2. Consultant

In short, consultants are like problem solvers who provide companies with expert advice on how to better manage their businesses. Most consultants don’t work locally, or just at one location. Rather, they travel from city to city, working with a wide variety of companies that may need assistance. These jobs can range anywhere from digital marketing to team management and everything in between. They can also long-term or short-term, depending on how much help the company needs.

3. Flight Attendant

This is probably the most obvious choice when it comes to finding a job that requires traveling, and believe it or not, it’s also one of the most attainable. Of course, you’ll have to be friendly and personable, but other than that, most airlines only require prior experience in customer service and a simple certification. Although the hours and lifestyle may get a little crazy, you’ll be staying in places all over the world for free and even scoring super discounted flights for you and your family!

4. Cruise Ship Employee

As strange as it may seem, a cruise ship gig may be a little bit harder to land than a flight attendant job. This is because, although there are plenty of cruise ship jobs, they are also highly sought after. If you’re up for the challenge, though, consider jobs in housekeeping, culinary, janitorial, and even entertainment, like music, acting, comedy, and the like. No matter what position you take, you’ll be able to make a living traveling the world, while taking advantage of the free meals, living accommodations, and entertainment!

5. Athletic Recruiter

Athletic scouts typically work for college and professional sports teams, seeking out the best young athletes and recruiting them for the teams they represent. In order to do this, recruiters must travel to high schools, colleges, and universities all over the country, and sometimes even outside the country. To be an athletic scout, you’ll need to be very familiar with sports - either from studying, coaching, or playing them - and you’ll need to be able to spot the best talent when you see it.

6. Road Crew Member

Calling all music fans! Imagine if you could travel the country with one of your favorite bands or music artists... and get paid for it?! Road crew members - commonly referred to as roadies - do just this! As with most jobs, you’ll have to work your way up to the top, but if you start off towing around sound and lighting equipment at a small theater, you might eventually get to work closely with your favorite musician!

7. English Teacher

Speaking English is actually one of the most sought-after skills in the world. This means that English teachers are in extremely high demand in many foreign countries, and most of the time, you don’t even need any hard-to-obtain teaching credentials to get a job teaching the English language. The travel associated with this job wouldn’t be quite as frequent as with some of the other jobs, as many of these positions require at least a year-long commitment.

8. Travel Writer

For those who have a passion and a knack for writing and a desire to travel, travel writing is definitely a dream job. Landing a successful travel writing job is tough, though, so you’ll certainly need to start out writing for free, on a blog or some other sample, until you get recognized and established. Even while you’re becoming established, your pay may not be very consistent, but if you stick with it long enough, and with enough determination, you can begin to build up your portfolio, your reputation, and your income.

9. Au Pair

If you’re somebody who loves kids and traveling, being an au pair might be just the job for you. Not familiar with this foreign term? An au pair is somebody who travels to another country to stay with a host family while taking care of their children for a small salary. It’s certainly a bonus if you speak any other languages or are willing to learn another language!

10. Tour Guide

I’m not sure there’s a more suitable job for a travel lover than a tour guide. Think about it… you get to spend your days exploring foreign cities - literally, exploring them - and getting paid for it. Plus, every city that attracts tourists needs tour guides! In order to be a tour guide, you have to be a people person, which means you have to be friendly and outgoing. In addition, you’ll have to know all of the ins and outs about the city that you’re guiding a tour throughout. Other than these two characteristics, there really are no major qualifications for being a tour guide!

It’s time to stop feeling like you’re wasting your life away by working around the clock. There’s absolutely no reason you can’t work and do what you love at the same time - like traveling! Keep in mind that these are just ten of the very many opportunities out there for traveling for a living. All you have to do is keep doing your research, make a plan, and start traveling away!
