In a world of makeup and skincare brands, Clinique remains a standout choice for many beauty fanatics like myself. I’ve tried went through a lot of different skincare brands in the past and the Clinique skincare collection is something that has truly worked the way I wanted it to. Their Moisturizing Gel is one of my holy grail skincare item from their collection (used it year-round!) and their makeup products are very versatile and easy to apply which was, and still is, a lifesaver when you have a hectic morning routine!
Plus, their recent collaboration with Crayola is bringing back all kinds of nostalgia. If you’re looking to get into the Clinique brand (or a die-hard fan), check out some of the best Clinique skincare and makeup for 2017! (Maybe your next holy grail is on this list).

As I mentioned before, skincare is what originally got me hooked on this brand. The fact that I have horrible year-round allergies (if you have this, you know my pain) also had me gravitating toward this company and their products more and more. Clinique is allergy tested which means their products are formulated for those with sensitive skin or allergies to certain skincare and makeup ingredients. Check out a list of our recommendations below if you’re looking to get started with Clinique skincare!
The company is famous for this 3-step system and it’s not hard to figure why. This short and easy skincare system is perfect for those just getting started (as a veteran of this system, I can vouch for it!). Clinique’s 3-Step Skin Care System comes with a facial wash, clarifying lotion and moisturizer. Plus, they have everything pre-selected depending on your skin type including their Acne Solutions Clear Skin System and two additional formulations for men.

This is best for nearly all skin types but especially if you have combination or oily skin (also a part of their 3-step system). I have normal skin type but prefer moisturizers with a gel-like consistency because it is MUCH more lightweight and post clarifying lotion application, it absorbs so much faster. It kept my skin feeling fresh and hydrated all day long and I found it great for the winter despite how light it is.
This is an item I have yet to try but according to Clinique, it’s formulated to match all skin types, delivers all-day hydration, oil-free and it has UV protection. That sounds rather promising in my opinion! I almost always prefer that my moisturizer has some built in SPF protection which can usually mean a greasier formula but since the Pep-Start is oil-free… we should not be seeing that issue. Give it a try and request a sample from your local Clinique!
An alternative option for improved UV protection is the Clinique Pep-Start Daily UV Protector with SPF 50. This one is also formulated for all skin types but is not oil-free. For those who needs a stronger sunscreen product but want to avoid oil build up, we also recommend the City Block Sheer Oil-Free Face Protector with SPF 25. This is also a lightweight and formulated to “wick away perspiration and absorb excess oil”.
I can only speak for this one from what I hear from my mom. She has used this serum with her own non-Clinique 3-step system and this is best used when applied after the face wash and clarifying lotion or toner and before you apply moisturizer. The serum will add another layer of protection to your skin plus, it’s usually formulated to absorb faster so applying it before moisturizer is ideal. She notes that she was able to see visible results after a few uses and especially when it came to diminishing lines and improving skin elasticity.

I was so stoked to see that Clinique partnered up with Crayola to produce some beautiful rosy tones for their new Chubby Stick collab. I am a huge fan of their Chubby Stick line because of the moisturizing formula (blends of mango and shea butter) and the color payoff. Each of their colors is perfect for daily wear!
I just can’t get enough of their Chubby Stick line. The Chubby Stick Shadow Tint has been a lifesaver when I need a soft base shade to brighten up my eyes on sleepless days. I opted for the Ample Amber and Lots o’ Latte shadows which made for great single shadow colors or a good transition color to work with. You can also use this stick as a kind of shadow base to improve color payoff on any existing eyeshadows you have (totally layerable and kind to lens-wearers!).
Clinique Cheek Pop is one of my go-to for any makeup look. It has a more blendable and smooth consistency and the color range is right up my alley. You can find gorgeous peach, rose and warm colors perfect for any skin tone. For the Spring and Summer seasons, Pink Pop is a personal fave or try Pansy Pop if you’re feeling more adventurous!
This foundation is listed as ideal for skin type 2 (dry combination) and 3 (combination oily) being that it is lightweight and oil-free. I also recommend this for normal skin type! This formula is a little sheerer and will do well in evening out skin tones and brightening up the face but will not provide full coverage. The best thing I like about this foundation is that it has built-in skincare ingredients that will not only cover but will work to help correct and improve the damage so… the benefits are plentiful! This foundation comes in 30 different shades.
I love the highlighter trend that started gaining grounds last year and will likely last… well, forever. But sometimes that look may be too overpowering for daily wear and so I was looking into highlighters that give a more natural glow and came across this illuminating powder from Clinique. I tried this in the shade Nude Glow and it was perfect! The pearl finish gave me a soft radiant glow (I applied from the apple of my cheeks toward the cheekbone) and it is sheer enough to build or dust on other parts of your face.
