It comes in two sizes - iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches, respectively - constructed of strong alumnimum. Both iPhones are available in a new high gloss jet black finish, matte black, gold, silver, and rose gold.
Apple has made the new, solid-state home button more responsive, more reliable, and more customizable. It involves a novel technology called the Taptic Engine that allows the Home button to respond more accurately to touch. You can expect a faster Touch ID, as well, without sacrificing security and simplicity.
Source: apple.comProbably one of the most talked-about rumors of the iPhone 7, Schiller relieved many eager iPhone lovers by introducing the smartphone's water and dust resistant capabilities. The completely rengineered technology and IP67 protection standard allow users to breathe easy knowing that their iPhone 7 can withstand even the most watery of accidents.
Of course, with a new iPhone comes a completely upgraded camera. The iPhone 7's camera boasts a 12MP front camera with optical image stabilization, up to 3 times longer exposure, six-element lenses, a 1.8 aperture, a high-speed sensor, and true-tone, quad-LED flash. With a flicker sensor, image-signal processor, and wide-color capture, this camera is capable of combining multiple images to create the perfect, vibrant shot. For selfie-takers, the front-facing camera is a 7MP HD camera that also has wide-color capture.
If you opt for the iPhone 7 Plus, you can expect all of these photo features and more. The iPhone 7 Plus has two, 12 MP cameras - wide-angle and telephoto. These two cameras work simultaneously to implement a built-in zoom feature that allows users to tap or drag to digitally zoom in up to 10x (optical zoom at 2x), with an image quality that is 4 times better with zoom. iPhone 7 Plus users will also receive a free update to their cameras to take Bokeh shots - an effect that is characteristic of professional DSLR cameras. This Portrait update in the camera options gives users the chance to witness the depth effect as they are taking the shot.
RETINA HD DISPLAY
The display of any iPhone is crucial to its userability, so Apple upped the ante when it comes to display and revamped the iPhone's visual experience. Vibrancy is the key factor in the Retina HD display, and with the new wide color gamut, users will be presented with a cinematic standard screen that is 25% brighter. The innovative 3D Touch is now even more responsive to subtle taps, giving users not only touch but feel, as well.
Instagram is also taking advantage of the iPhone 7's new wide-gamut color sensory capabilities. Their filters are being upgraded to incorporate this technology to create more vivid images and a broader range of hues for your photos. You can also see your Instagram post in the notifications, and Live Photos can be uploaded into the Boomerang app, which produces short videos that can be uploaded into Instagram.
For the first time ever, the iPhone comes equipped with a stereo speaker system. It is 2 times louder than the iPhone 6S, and the dynamic range has been dramatically increased.
They also introduced EarPods, which come with the new smartphone, and a new Lightning connector, both which work together to deliver digital audio power and control. If you want to stick to your original earphones, the iPhone 7 also comes with a min phono adapter.
Apple is keen to courage and being the first to deliver the latest technological advances, so they debuted Apple AirPods, wireless earphones that deliver intense audio via Apple's first wireless chip, the W1 Chip. With a tap of the earphone, users can access Siri and communicate with the machine, and AirPods can be effortlessly connected across iPhones, Apple Watches, iPads, and Macs. A single charge warrants 5 hours of listening, and the charging case (included) delivers 24 hours of battery life. Both can be charged simultaneously via Lightning.
Apple's easy and convenient way of paying is expanding into Japan in October and incorporating their technology, FeliCa. They'll also be launching Transit in Japan, which is equipped with the ability to figure out the cost to get on your route and the option to pay with Apple Pay.
With a new-generation chip called A10 Fusion Chip, the iPhone 7 runs 40% faster than than the iPhone 6S. The graphics performance is enhanced, too - console-level gaming is finally a reality on your smartphone, and you can even achieve more complicated tasks like editing in the Adobe Lightroom app, which can deliver 90% of the raw editing features you'd find on desktop or laptop.
The new battery life is, without surprise, the longest battery life ever in an iPhone. For comparison, if you upgrade from an iPhone 6S to an iPhone 7, you'll experience 2 more hours of battery life on average, and a 1 hour increase on average from an iPhone 6S Plus to an iPhone 7 Plus.
