Today we discovered that Amazon will be offering Prime memberships this weekend for only $73 – a 25% off discount from the normal $99 price tag! You can read the full press release here.

Get Amazon Prime for $73

What special occasion could lead to this good fortune you ask? Well, during the recent Golden Globes, Amazon’s original series “Mozart in the Jungle” won two awards. It just so happens that this was the 73rd annual Golden Globes, hence the $73 discounted price.

This is a similar deal to the one we saw last year, where Amazon dropped the price of Prime memberships to $72 for one day only. If you missed out on that offer, be sure to grab your discounted membership before it’s too late!

The sale starts Friday January 15th at 9:00 PT, and will continue through Sunday January 17th at midnight. Also during that time, non-members can enjoy streaming “Mozart in the Jungle” for free.

Amazon Prime offers a wide variety of benefits for members, including:

  • Free Two-Day Shipping
  • Instant Video Streaming of TV and Movies
  • Exclusive Video Content Not Found on Netflix
  • Prime Photos
  • Prime Music
  • Kindle Owner’s Lending Library
  • Early Access to Lightning Deals
  • and many additional features!

It was also recently announced that Amazon is introducing a brand NEW offer for members: 20% off new video games! This offer starts at the time of pre-order and extends for two weeks after the release. Discount is applied automatically at checkout, so no coupon or promo code is needed.

This brand new offer for video games is likely an effort to compete directly with Best Buy’s new Gamers Club.

Overall, it’s clear that Amazon continues to be a game changer, and this is clearly a deal you don’t want to miss!
