There are currently 25 million customers with a Kohl’s credit card – far more than the store’s closest competitors. There are 40 million people signed up for Kohl’s Yes2You program, which means there’s a huge audience for the Kohl’s Pay app. So far, 14 million people have already downloaded the app, which was launched nationwide on October 5. The app, which is available for Apple and Android devices, promises to make shopping even easier, especially during the upcoming holiday season.
The app allows the customer to continually save money and time. The app offers savings opportunities that can be automatically redeemed at checkout. Plus, since all purchases are stored on the app, exchanges and returns are easier than ever. The benefits aren’t limited to in-store purchases. You can also use the app to shop and make purchases online at Kohls.

At checkout, the customer will launch the Kohl’s app. One of the menu options is Kohl’s Pay. Select that option and the QR reader will open. A QR code will display at the point of sale. The customer will scan the code with the mobile device. He or she can use any Kohl’s Cash or other offers at this step. The customer will then tap Approve to finalize the transaction. Why the app was created
The Kohl’s Pay app had been in the works for a year. The release couldn’t have come at a better time. The retailer had a poor second quarter, with sales falling nearly 4% year over year. The app is the boost that Kohl’s needs to help increase loyalty. Kohl’s is also looking for ways to gain an advantage over rivals such as Macy’s and JC Penney.
With the app, the goal is to make checkout a quick, easy and seamless experience. Customers like to get in and out of the store easily. They’re busy and value convenience, so this app helps in that regard.
The app also gives Kohl’s insights into customer purchasing habits. The retailer can better plan inventory and offer promotions that are geared specifically toward individual customers.

An easier shopping experience
Kohl’s Pay is designed to make shopping easier – and more fun. The main difference is that the Walmart and Apple Pay apps allow you to use multiple credit cards. With the Kohl’s app, you’re limited to just your store card.

Walmart Pay finished its nationwide rollout in July 2016. It allows you to pay with your smartphone in select Walmart stores. You can store debit and credit cards, as well as gift cards and pre-paid cards. The app can be downloaded onto iOS and Android smartphones. You activate the app by scanning a QR code available in stores. Just open the app, choose Walmart Pay and scan the code. You’ll be able to view an electronic receipt on your mobile device for reference. Walmart Pay cannot be used at fuel stations or drive-through pharmacies.
Apple Pay

Apple Pay allows you to pay in stores and on the web. You can add debit and credit cards. When you’re ready to check out, payment takes just one touch. Apple Pay is available for millions of stores. Plus, because your credit card information is never given out, it’s safe and private. Apple Pay does have its limitations. In order to use it, you need an iOS device. That means this option won’t work for Android users.
