Places To Go

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls in the winter months is a fairytale come to life. Icicles cascade down the sides of the falls, and the snowy, crystalized banks shimmer in the sunlight. The true romance of the falls can be seen in the many locks of love secured to the railings along the water's edge, each adorned with two pairs of initials and a date. You can view all three falls, the American Falls, Bridal Falls and Horeshoe Falls, from either Niagara Falls, New York or Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada. The best views can be seen from the Canadian side, so if you have your passport, it's worth a visit to our northen cousins. Stay in a hotel along the falls and opt for a room with a view to watch the nightly light show projected onto the water from the warmth of your own room. During the winter, the iconic boat ride Maid of the Mist is closed, however you can still get up close and personal with the Journey Behind the Falls tour, which takes you literally behind the falling water. You and your significant other will stand together in awe of the raw natural beauty of Niagara Falls.

Me and my single self might take one of these trips!
Great write up, very informative.

For anyone going to San Francisco, I highly recommend Golden Gate Park (no where near the bridge). It's huge and full of nature and truly beautiful, very romantic.

Also, there is a ton of good Dim Sum and Chinese in the city! Red Jade in the Castro district is my favorite :)

Next time I go, I'm going to try the Slanted Door like you recommended.
