If you meet the criteria, you may be able to receive a grant from Free Gas USA, Inc. for an amount ranging from $50 to $1200. To apply for a grant, simply fill out the online application on their website. In order to qualify for the grant, you and your family must meet the income limits established by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and your application must be accompanied by a referral letter from an official organization like Social Services or a church. In addition, grants are given based on income, personal circumstances, and the availability of funding. If you are approved, you will be issued a coded gas card.
There are many survey and opinion websites out there, like MySurvey, OpinionOutpost, and Valued Opinions, that reward you for simply answering online surveys or giving your opinion about various topics online. By answering questions or giving your opinion, you can be rewarded in points which are usually exchangeable for cash, gift cards, and - you guessed it - GAS!
If you really can’t wait for an application to be reviewed or to receive your reward for taking surveys, consider talking to your local church about immediate assistance. Although you shouldn’t ask all the time, most churches will help a certain amount of times in a given time period… all you have to do is ask. While they typically won’t hand you cash, most will give you a gift card to gas stations or a check payable to a certain gas station.
The main purpose of the Salvation Army is to help people in need. Therefore, many Salvation Army centers offer assistance with transportation and fuel costs. Some even offer free gas vouchers to customers who are struggling to get to work, medical appointments, school, or job interviews. Check with your local center to see if they offer this type of assistance.
