Netflix Originals & Movies Coming September 2016 thru January 2017

And here’s to another month of binging Netflix. Stranger Things has been wild ride and one of the best Netflix Originals we have ever seen but since it’ll be awhile until season 2, here are some upcoming Netflix Originals coming this Fall. Also down this list, Netflix’s revealed four new Originals Documentaries that will be launching across September and November.


Chef’s Table (Season 3) coming September 2nd

This beautiful piece on famed restaurants, chefs and the story behind it all returns for a third and a fourth season (coming 2017). Chef’s Table remains one of the best food and restaurant documentary Originals we’ve come across on Netflix with it’s captivating shots of dishes, chef’s commentary and back story to weave the whole picture together.

Season 3 is a French installment and features:

  • Alain Passard, L'Arpege (France)
  • Michel Troisgros, Maison Troisgros (France)
  • Adeline Grattard, Yam'Tcha (France)
  • Alexandre Couillon, La Marine (France)


Narcos (Season 2) coming September 2nd

If you haven’t started yet, Narcos is a Netflix feature on the notorious drug cartel “Narcos,” and the story follows the rise and fall of Pablo Escobar along with the DEA agents that were hunting him.

“The story is told largely from the points of view of Escobar, played by Brazilian actor Wagner Moura, and U.S. DEA Agent Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook), on opposite sides of what would become an all-out war. Kazoops! (Season 1) coming September 2

Netflix is continuing to expand their kids titles and brings Kazoops into the fold. Kazoops is a British childrens show where viewers follow Monty, an adventurous 6 year old, and his best friend Jimmy Jones onto a wild adventure. Their goals? To challenge preconceptions about the world. Spunky eh?


From Dusk Till Dawn (Season 3) coming September 7

From Dusk Till Dawn is returning for a third season in select regions only: CA, LATAM, BE, FR, DACH, UK/IE, India, Italy, Spain (to be distributed as weekly episodes).

“In this supernatural crime series, Seth Gecko and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard "Richie" Gecko, are wanted by the FBI and Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez after a bank robbery left several people, including policemen and Gonzalez's mentor Texas Ranger Earl McGraw, dead. Heading for the Mexico border pursued by Gonzalez, the Geckos encounter former minister Jacob Fuller and his family, whom they take hostage by commandeering the Fullers' RV. Drug lord Don Carlos reroutes them to a strip club populated by snake like people that all must fight for food to survive until dawn.”


The White Helmets (Originals Documentary) coming September 16

Featured in the Toronto Film Festival, The White Helmet centers around volunteer heroes who mount tremendous efforts into rescuing Syrians from the many destructions that took place in their towns and cities.


Easy (Season 1) coming September 22

Easy is an anthology series from Joe Swanberg that will feature various groups of people and amongst them, a few celebrities which includes: Orlando Bloom, Malin Åkerman, Michael Chernus, Marc Maron, Kiersey Clemons, Elizabeth Reaser, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jake Johnson, Aya Cash, Dave Franco, Jane Adams, Hannibal Buress, Emily Ratajkowski and Evan Joingkeit.


Longmire (Season 5) coming September 23

Longmire will only stream in select regions: US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The series is based on Walt Longmire mystery novels from Craig Johnson and follows Longmire’s efforts to piece his life back together after the recent passing of his wife.


Iliza Shlesinger: Confirmed Kills (Standup Comedy Special) coming September 23

Netflix brings back Shlesinger, a stand up comedian who can make a mighty signature sheep sound at the opportune moment to bring you a whole lot of laughs. You can also catch her last performance on Netflix, “Iliza Shlesinger: Freezing Hot”.


Marvel’s Luke Cage (Season 1) coming September 30th

Another Marvel show heading your way on Netflix next month! This series centers around Luke Cage, who uses his superhuman strength and armor-like skin to fight crime.

Amanda Knox (Originals Documentary) coming September 30th

This new Netflix documentary focus on the Amanda Knox case that shocked the world back in 2007. The story revolves around the murder of Knox’s then roommate Meredith Kercher in their time studying abroad in Italy and Knox’s involvement as a main suspect in the murder.


The Ranch (Season 1, Part 2) coming October 7

If you haven’t yet, you can catch part 1 of The Ranch on Netflix. The Ranch takes place in Iron River Ranch in Colorado and depicts the life of a former football player who makes his way home to start a business with his brother.


Black Mirror (Anthology - Season 3) coming October 21

Another anthology from Netflix’s line, Black Mirror will feature six stand-alone episodes exploring different perspectives on how technology has transformed our world.

The Ivory Game (Originals Documentary) coming November 4

Lovesick (Season 2) coming November 17

Lovesick comes back for a second season mid-November and you might remember the show from former title, Scrotal Recall. The second season will pick up where Dylan confessed his love to long time best friend, Evie and along with Luke, you can watch the group of three continue their fun romantic comedy adventure.


Beat Bugs (Season 2) coming November 18

Beat Bugs return for a second season featuring music from The Beatles and centers around five best friends who learn life lessons together.


Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life coming November 25

Yep Gilmore Girls is making it’s way back to you via Netflix in the form of four 90-minute chapters each to span, what Netflix deems “one of the four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.” Who’s ready to watch Lorelai and Rory again?


Captive coming December 9
